Wellness

The Souderton Area School District Wellness Department supports quality health and physical education that provides a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate program of structured learning activities intended to engage students in the pursuit of lifetime wellness.
Through participation in our courses, students will gain experience and knowledge in various areas related to health, fitness, and overall wellness.

  1. Students will participate in a variety of fitness and sport activities they can use throughout their lifetime.
  2. Students will have the opportunity to practice interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills that will help them to successfully participate in a class environment as well as in future endeavors.
  3. Students will use technology to manage information.

Note: Students may not wear jewelry during physical education classes. Students should avoid getting body piercings during or immediately preceding a marking period during which they have physical education. Plastic inserts may be used during class.

Required Courses:
Health I and PE I (both taken during the 9th or 10th grade academic year)

Movement Credit:
For the Class of 2027 and beyond, students will be required to complete ONE full credit in MOVEMENT courses. One half is completed with PE 1, the other half may be satisfied by taking one of the following:

*Should a student be exempt from PE 1 for medical reasons, they will be required to fulfill the movement credit with two courses from the list above
