Mandarin Chinese II is the continuation of Mandarin Chinese I. Students will continue to master communicative situations in Mandarin Chinese at a high novice level. The systematic training in speaking, listening, writing, and reading, reinforced by the use of authentic audio and video material, will enhance competence in overall communication in the target language. Students will continue study of the linguistic and cultural diversity of Chinese speaking countries. In addition, students will be encouraged to take the HSK 1 (Chinese Proficiency exam).
