Mandarin Chinese I is an introduction to the Mandarin language. Students will learn to master basic communicative situations in Mandarin Chinese at a mid-novice level. The systematic training in speaking, listening, writing, and reading, reinforced by the use of authentic audio and video material, will create competence and confidence in overall communication in the target language. In addition, students will learn about the various cultures in Mandarin Chinese speaking countries.
