Description:

Foundations of Algebra will provide many opportunities to revisit and expand the understanding of foundational algebraic concepts, will employ diagnostic means to offer focused interventions, and will prepare students for required college mathematics courses. This course is recommended for students who wish to continue their education beyond high school, but are not planning to pursue a math or science related field. This is a first college-leve course in algebra with some review of arithmetic. Topics include signed numbers, algebraic terminology, basic operations on algebraic expressions and exponents, solutions of linear equations and inequalities, solutions of quadratic equations, simple factoring, graphs, algebraic fractions, and word problems.
