Description:

This course begins with a review of data and linear representation, numbers and functions, and systems of linear equations and inequalities. Complex numbers and their operations are introduced, and curve fitting with quadratic models and quadratic inequalities are presented. A variety of applications that are modeled by polynomial, rational, radical, logarithmic, exponential, and trigonometric functions are explored. Students are exposed to basic conic sections and their relationship to the coordinate plane. Discrete mathematics is studied in depth, familiarizing students with applications of probability and statistics. This course will cover these topics in greater depth than the Academic Algebra II course.
