Description: In Bake Shop students will design a bakery, create a signature dish and catering menus. Students will learn the art of baking using simple ingredients to create a variety of textures and flavors. Foods prepared in the labs will include cookies, muffins, quick and yeast breads, cakes, and catering menu items. An emphasis will be placed on making delicious desserts that are also nutritious. Students with severe food allergies should consider selecting another FCS class since these foods are an integral part of this course. |
