Description: This introductory food class focuses on recipe interpretation, basic food preparation techniques and safety and sanitation in the kitchen. This course will cover the six macronutrients, phytochemicals and antioxidants. Students will learn about proper diet and nutrition and how it impacts our physical well-being. Students with severe food allergies should consider selecting another FCS class since these foods are an integral part of this course. |
