Description:

This semester course is designed to meet the needs of the senior art student who plans to pursue a career in the visual arts. Works produced and discussed in this course will involve advanced individualized problem solving while building on processes mastered in Clay Studio I, II, and III. Modern and Contemporary Artists and their works will be the focus of expressive works produced in a series and based upon themes. Students will also be involved in clay preparations, glaze preparations, kiln preparation and kiln firings to prepare them for study in college and/or career studio work. A senior portfolio will be part of the requirements. A sketchbook will also be required.
