Description:
Scientific discovery is a double-edged sword; it can create both wonderful advancements and devastating destruction. This course will investigate the connections between literature and science. Acknowledging that science is an inseparable part of our modern world, this course will look at the complex relationship between tradition and new scientific ideas. The class will examine both classic and modern literature, including science fiction and nonfiction texts. Also, the class will explore how innovations in science have implications for our society, both ethically and legally.
