Description:

This is a challenging course designed to introduce students to the technical field of nonlinear video editing, as well as introduction to the television studio.  This class will not produce live episodes of Red Alert.  Essential concepts learned and applied throughout the course will include; camera operations, scene composition, lighting, audio recording, scripting, and studio jobs. Students will produce features to appear on the "RedAlert" television broadcast.   In addition to shooting and editing video, students will complete other taping and editing assignments. This class is excellent for those students planning to major in broadcast communications, broadcast journalism, and film/media at a post-secondary school. Because of the intense time that is required to professionally record and edit video, students will be required to spend additional time before and after school to complete their assignments.
