Description: The aim of this course is to give students a specific knowledge of the major themes of European History during the past five centuries. Through an intensive study of this period, a deeper understanding is gained of the political, economic, social and intellectual development of Europe. Special treatment will be given to analysis of European events in relation to contemporary situations. The European perspective will provide students with a unique understanding of western civilization and global developments. This course, like all A.P. courses, will require a deep commitment of time and effort from the student. There is a summer assignment for this course. |
