Description: This course is designed to examine the nature of individual and social human behavior. The social science disciplines of psychology and sociology provide the main framework for course content. Among the topics to be studied include: the role of the brain in behavior, learning and personality theory, nature vs. nurture, intelligence, collective behavior and social inequality. Techniques of data collection and research will also be examined. Course assessment will include a performance-based major project to be completed by all students. |
