Description:
This course is designed to stimulate investigative thinking in each student. Laboratory experiments are blended with lectures to give the students hands-on, inquiry-based experiences, as well as scientific knowledge. In the laboratory, the students will use scientific processes to collect, organize, and interpret data to develop understanding of science concepts. The goal of this course is to prepare the student for work in other courses and to provide an understanding and appreciation of the processes that shape the earth. Units for this course include studies of astronomy, water, geology, and the changing earth with an emphasis on environmental impacts.
