Description:

AP Mechanics is a rigorous course of study designed to be the equivalent of a first-semester college Physics course with an emphasis on conceptual development as well as problem solving. Knowledge of Algebra and Basic Trigonometry is needed for this course. Calculus will be used in problem solving and in derivations of equations. The content of this course will be Newtonian Mechanics, which includes kinematics, Newton's laws of motion, work, energy, power, linear momentum, circular motion, and gravitation. This curriculum, developed by the AP Physics Committee, will prepare the student to perform at his or her best on the AP Physics C Mechanics exam.
