Description: This science elective is designed for students who are truly interested in learning more about invertebrate and vertebrate animals. This course includes a study of taxonomy and classification, development and organization, and will concentrate on a survey of the morphology and physiology of both invertebrates and vertebrates. The phyla of animals included in the discussions are Porifera, Cnidaria, Platyhelminthes, Nematoda, Annelida, Mollusca, Arthropoda, Echinodermata, and Chordata.. Evolutionary relationships and advancements among these animals are included. Lab work includes some dissections of organisms. |
