It’s finally here! It’s time for your child to choose which band or string instrument they would like to play next school year!

Be sure to watch the instrumental music demonstration presentation in Schoology for a demonstration of each available instrument. Lessons for beginning musicians will be provided on the following instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, and Percussion.

We require students to provide three choices in order of preference. Of the three choices, you need to have one string and one band instrument among your preference list. With scheduling and balanced instrumentation in mind, you may be contacted about your second or third choices. Every position on a baseball team is critical for success. The same is true in the band and orchestra. The success of the elementary, as well as future middle and high school instrumental groups, relies on well-balanced instrumentation from the first day of instruction. One point of pride in Souderton is the balance of our musical ensembles from 4th to 12th grade.

Instrumental Music Registration is split into two steps. This will allow the teachers to establish who is playing what instrument BEFORE any payment is made. This process will streamline registration and eliminate unnecessary confusion in the summer.

Online Instrumental Music Registration

Submit your student ID and e-mail above. Indicate if you are a NEW or RETURNING student. Then, you will be directed to the Instrumental Music Informational Survey. Complete and submit the registration online. You can submit questions directly into the survey. When Step I is closed, the directors will determine what instruments students will be playing in the 2020-2021 school year. At that time your child will receive vendor information so you can acquire a high-quality instrument for the fall. During the registration process you will be able to indicate if you already have access to an instrument. Returning students need to register for 5th grade so the teachers have a current e-mail address on file.

June 14, 2023 - August 1, 2023
Rental/ Lease Agreement Completion

When you receive an e-mail from the instrumental music teachers confirming your child's instrument choice, it will also include vendor information so you can rent a high-quality instrument. The instrument your family and the teachers have decided upon will be delivered to school in August along with a book! ALL STUDENTS, INCLUDING THOSE WHO ALREADY HAVE ACCESS TO AN INSTRUMENT, MUST PURCHASE A BOOK. We currently use the Essential Elements series for instruction for all instruments.
